During the months of summer highs here at Richards Lake reach the 90's. Summer night lows sink down to the 70's. Through the winter highs are in the 50's while Richards Lake night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 30's. Andrews Lake is a nice lake near Richards Lake,       and a wonderful nearby hotel is Best Western Gun Barrel City Inn. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Richards Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sandy Shores RV Park is a pleasant site for that, and don't leave Richards Lake without first going for a hike along the Purtis Creek State Park Trail. You don’t have to go far from Richards Lake to see the water at Richards Lake Dam. Lakes? Sure, Whitaker Pond is in the vicinity.                  Richards Lake gets a great deal of water; the wettest month of the year is usually May, that's the one that rains the most, and August on the other hand is the driest.
