    Do stop by Reservoir Number 1 while you're in this part of Texas. Through the warm months highs here at Reservoir Number 1 reach the 90's. Through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 70's. Through the winter highs are typically in the 50's with temperatures at Reservoir Number 1 dipping down into the 30's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. There are plenty of people from Dallas -Fort Worth-Arlington here at Reservoir Number 1, and Lewisville  
   Mobile Home Park is a brilliant campground nearby.
Hiking is a popular thing to do around Reservoir Number 1; Northshore Trail is a nice local trail, and you can stay the night at The Vineyards Campground on Lake Grapevine. An average amount of precipitation falls at Reservoir Number 1; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily May, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is January. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Reservoir
 
               Number 1. Denton Creek has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot close by, and you can go for a hike on the Leonard L Woods Park Trail.
Grapevine Lake is a great lake right next door to Reservoir Number 1, and a great nearby hotel is Homewood Suites By Hilton Dallas-Grapevine. If you're a golfer then a good close by course is Grapevine City Golf Course, and after a long day outdoors Fairfield Inn And Suites By Marriott Dfw Airport North-Grapevine is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two. There are other places here than Reservoir Number 1, for example Lake Number 1; paddling on Furneaux Creek is so much fun.
This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Walnut Grove Trail, and why not take a little trip to Bakers Branch if you're here.

Not a bad run, a little shallow in places though. Take out point requires dragging boat up a steep incline. Also there are lots of man made obstacles to avoid, sever man hole covers protruding from the bottom. There are also 2 manmade water falls that will sneak up on you....
