The beauty of Powers Reservoir attracts many people from all around. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Powers Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Fort Griffin State Historical Park Trail; after a long day outdoors Double J Lodge is a fine site to spend a night or two. The amount of precipitation that falls at Powers Reservoir is close to the national average; September is the wettest month with most rain; the driest of the months is January.

Powers Dam is worth taking a look at since you're here, and getting to Givens Creek from Powers Reservoir is trouble-free. Through the summertime at Powers Reservoir temperatures are usually in the 90's with overnight lows in the 70's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's, and overnight lows at Powers Reservoir during the wintertime commonly sink into the 20's.
