You could also stop at Wood Lake since you're here at Post Oak Lake; it's nearby, and hiking along the Palmetto State Park - Palmetto Trail is tremendous fun. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Best Western Regency Inn & Suites is a delightful choice, and camping at Lake wood Recreation Area is always       a great experience. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool stuff the area close to Post Oak Lake has to offer. Some close by water includes Clear Fork Creek, and do take a hike on the Palmetto State Park - Nature and Hiking Trail. Dry warm beds await you at Carefree Inn And Suites, and Post Oak Lake is right by the Palmetto State Park - River Trail. During the summer months highs here at Post Oak Lake get into the 90's while overnight lows are                  regularly in the 70's.
