While you're here at Possum Lake, you could also explore picturesque Shade Lake; if you came to camp Village Creek State Park is a good location to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Roy E Larsen Sandyland Sanctuary Trail, and after a long day outdoors La Quinta Inn & Suites Lumberton is a brilliant spot to spend a night or two. | | in the 70's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 50's while Possum Lake nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 30's. No need to travel far to stop by out of the ordinary stuff like Cocklebur Bend, and a short journey to Gourd Vine Eddy is always worthwhile.

of a delightful outdoors paradise. There's so much to do here at Possum Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Red Cloud Recreational Vehicle Park is a delightful spot for that, and if you have time to spare, Big Thicket National
Preserve is a national park worth a visit. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Possum Lake; Big Thicket - Beech Woods Trail is a nice local trail.
On a tremendous day you can pop by Burnt Slough,
a swamp in close proximity to Possum Lake, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Big Thicket - Turkey Creek Trail. Clear Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by, and a good close by hotel is Super 8 Kountze Big Thicket Natl Pres Area.
