     There are plenty of people from Palestine here at Pine Lake, and if the weather is wonderful, you obtain a great vista of Cary Lake Mountain from Pine Lake. Best Western Executive Inn is a good spot to get some rest; whitewater paddling is great on Neches River. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Nature Trail, and Pine Lake is a wonderful site to visit for more than one day, Castle on the Lake Inn and RV Resort is a wonderful site to camp  
   nearby. Pine Lake is a good spot of common rainfall; May is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month of the year is July.
Cary Lake is a good lake in the neighborhood of Pine Lake, and a perfect close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express JACKSONVILLE. Boggy Creek is a stream that you may encounter during your stay; Big Steve's RV Park is a delightful campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful.

               things just keep reading. Lakes are such serene places, why not take a look at Henry Lake in close proximity to Pine Lake, and there's fine hiking along the Mount Hope Tract Trail. At Pine Lake during the long summer days highs are in the 90's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 70's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 50's, and nighttime lows at Pine Lake during the winter typically sink into the 30's.

...11, 2009) This is a totally do-able float. There's not really any fast water to speak of, but you need to be prepared to make short portages and negotiate downed timber in the water. One area in particular you will need to tie some line off to your kayak and let it float under a downed tree, you crawl over the tree and then get back in. I'm sure the when and where the trees are down changes quite often.... And it looks like someone (probably the river authority) takes a saw down and cuts some of this out from time to time.

The put in location is correct. However, the take out is not. You need to float further down to the 175 bridge (less than 1/4th mile) and get out there.

I would suggest that experienced paddlers attempt this only when the water is high from heavy rains or when the dam is letting a lot of water out. There's vegetative litter stuck in the trees 10 foot above the water line.... So at some points of the year... This thing moves... And could represent dangers with the amount of timber.

You might consider taking a machete on this trip just in case. D...
