From a rainfall point of view Pico Lake is a pretty normal spot; the wettest month of the year is mostly September, that's the one that rains the most, and January is when it's the driest. A pleasant site to camp here at Pico Lake is Fort Griffin State Park; on a glorious day you can take a hike along the Fort Griffin State Historical Park Trail. For the period of the summer months       at Pico Lake highs are usually in the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 70's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 50's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Pico Lake plunge into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant close by hotel is Knights Inn Cisco.
