Through the days of summer highs here at Pelaez Lake reach the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are frequently in the 50's with temperatures at Pelaez Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. Pelaez Lake Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out; you can have a delightful hiking adventure along the Kerr Wildlife Management Area       Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Sabinal Canyon Campland, and not far from Pelaez Lake you'll come across Pelaez Lake which is a picturesque lake. Now, you may imagine that's lots but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Pelaez Lake. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Sabinal, and hiking along the Garner State Park Trail is good fun. Why not go to nearby Evans Creek while you're here at Pelaez Lake, and do take a hike on the Lost                  Maples State Natural Area Trails. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Frio River offers some pleasant whitewater. You might want to pay a visit to Foster Hollow while you're here at Pelaez Lake, and at Pelaez Lake you always meet someone from Uvalde. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Pelaez Lake has to offer, you can camp at Lost Maples Shp, and there are other locations here than Pelaez Lake, for example Post Oak Waterhole.
