Olsen Lake is right by the Bosque Trail. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Olsen Lake has to offer, you can camp at The Safari RV Resort and Campground. Do stop at Meridian Lake close to Olsen Lake, it's a striking lake; if you come at the right time of year, Meridian Creek offers some delightful whitewater. Olsen Lake is a good spot of       normal rain; May is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is December. There's so much to do here at Olsen Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hill Country RV Park is a great site for that, and hiking along the Lake Whitney State Park Hiking Trail is magnificent fun. During the warm months at Olsen Lake temperatures are mostly in the 90's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 70's. For the period of the winter highs                  are usually in the 50's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Olsen Lake temperatures drop to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Best Western Velkommen is a brilliant location to spend a night or two, and there's some attention-grabbing stuff to catch a sight of at Olsen Lake Dam near Olsen Lake. Any time is a fine time at Olsen Lake if you have a thing about the outdoors.
