This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Old River Woodland Trail; if you need a location to stay Econo Lodge Jasper is a wonderful choice. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable       things at Old River Lakes. Beech Grove Campground is a brilliant campground nearby, and lakes are such peaceful places, why not visit Big Eddy. Good hiking is available along the Martin Dies State Park Trail, and you'll hit upon a pretty lake called Long Lake. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel Jasper TX is a fine place to spend a night or two; a forest close by is Pine Woods. Throughout the summer at Old River Lakes highs are ordinarily in the 90's.                  Summer overnight lows descend down to the 70's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 50's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Old River Lakes temperatures drop to the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. Old River Lakes sees pretty high levels of rain; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain; August on the other hand is the driest.
