You just can't envision the amount of outdoors fun stuff the area next to Old River Lake has to offer. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Center Inn, and you can stay the night at Fisherman's wharf. After a long day outdoors McKay House is a delightful spot       to spend a night or two, and a scenic lake like Goodsons Lake is a magnificent place to have a look at. Going for a hike along the Sabine National Forest Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and some of the water nearby flows, like Cow Bayou. Old River Lake frequently gets much rain; most of the rain falls during May, and the driest month is August. Summertime highs at Old River Lake usually tend to be in the 90's. All through the                  moonlight hours it's typically in the 60's.
