Springs Nature Center Trail is a wonderful local trail. There's so much to do here at Northgate Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Belton Koa Kampground is a perfect place for that.
Whitewater paddling is pleasant
on Salado Creek, and Belton Dam is a charming place, positively worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. You'll meet a lot of folks from Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood here; why not take a refreshing hike along the Chalk Ridge Falls Park
