Nolan Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Belton / Temple / Killeen KOA is a nice local campground, and there are plenty of folks from Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood here at Nolan Lake. If you adore the outdoors, you'll fancy Nolan Lake. At Nolan Lake you can see Liberty Hill, and don't leave Nolan Lake without first going for a hike along the Dana Peak Park Trail. Summertime at Nolan       Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's while overnight lows are generally in the 70's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Nolan Lake are in the 30's. If you come at the right time of year, Salado Creek offers some great whitewater, and after a long day outdoors SUPER 8 MOTEL - KILLEEN is a good place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Days Inn Harker Heights                  is a nice choice; there's wonderful hiking along the Miller Springs Nature Center Trail. If you came to camp Big Oak Estates is a great location to do that, and the Chalk Ridge Falls Park Trail offers hiking at its best.
