If the weather is delightful here at Nelson Lake, you can go for a hike along the Sister Grove Park Trail, and Bluff Creek is in close proximity to Nelson Lake and is always a delight to check out. Nelson Lake is near Greenes Lake Dam which is a gorgeous place positively worth stopping at; there are other spots here than Nelson Lake, for example Sands Lake. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Rockwall, Texas is       a splendid spot to get some rest; there are some tremendous whitewater spots on Rowlett Creek. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Duck Creek; Nelson Lake is a perfect location to visit for more than one day, Collin Park RV Resort and Marina is a perfect location to camp nearby. Here at Nelson Lake there are plenty of folks from Dallas -Fort Worth-Arlington. This lake is so wonderful. Have a great hiking adventure                  along the Trinity Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Rockwall. This lake is so wonderful. Near Nelson Lake you hit upon a golf course called Buffalo Creek Golf Club, and Mc Elroy Mobile Home Park is a great campground nearby. Summer at Nelson Lake comes with high temperatures in the 90's with overnight lows in the 70's. Highs through the winter are regularly in the 50's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Nelson Lake temperatures sink to the 30's. Any time is a magnificent time at Nelson Lake if you like the outdoors. Lakes? Sure, Crenshaw Lake is around here, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Wylie Community Park Trail.
