Sure, Johnson Lake is nearby. A magnificent location to camp here at Mud Lake is Sea Rim State Park, and if you need a place to stay Days Inn and Suites Port Arthur is a good choice. For the period of the days of summer, highs mostly are in the 90's at Mud Lake. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 70's. Through the winter the highs are generally in the 60's with temperatures       at Mud Lake dipping down into the 40's through winter nights. Now, you may feel that's a lot but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Mud Lake. Why not camp at Lazy L Campgrounds while you're here at Mud Lake. Mud Lake is a wet location that gets much rain; the wettest month of the year is regularly September, that's the one that rains the most, and March is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Mud Lake, you'll                  discover Lost Lake which is a stunning lake; Super 8 Port Arthur/Nederland Area is a tremendous place to get some rest.
