But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Mountain Creek Lake. Take a hike on the Mountain Creek Lake Park Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Loyd Park at Joe Pool Lake is a tremendous spot to camp. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Trinity Creek Mountain Creek Preserve Trail, and if you get bored of Mountain Creek Lake you could also pop by close by Bluebonnet Lakes.       If you come at the right time of year, Johnson Creek offers some great whitewater. Mountain Creek Lake gets a typical amount of yearly rainfall; most of the rain falls during May, and the driest of the months is January. This lake is so wonderful. A great close by hotel is Comfort Suites Dallas, and an afternoon playing golf at Sunset Golf Club is always a delight. At Mountain Creek Lake through the months of summer highs are in the 90's. For the period                  of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 70's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 50's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Mountain Creek Lake drop into the 20's. If you need a place to stay Grand Prairie Howard Johnson Express Inn is a delightful choice, and Mountain Creek Lake is not the only spot close by, Spring Lake is a close by lake. Take a side visit to O'Guinn Creek; Mountain Creek Dam has splendid water scenery. Here at Mountain Creek Lake there are plenty of folks from Dallas -Fort Worth-Arlington, and Cedar Hollow RV Trailer Park is a fine campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
