Mooney Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Go for a hike on the Lake Livingston State Park Trail, and Best Western Livingston Inn & Suites is a good spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Mooney Lake without first going for a hike along the Double Lake Trail, and camping is available at Blue Lagoon Office. Just can't get enough of Mooney Lake.
There's brilliant hiking along the Bull Creek Trail; naturally Caney Creek flows through

| | this area. Much rain falls at Mooney Lake; throughout May this area sees the most rain, and August meanwhile is the driest month. Why not camp at Penwaugh Campgrounds and Marina since you're here at Mooney Lake; after a long day outdoors La Quinta Inn and Suites Livingston is a great location to spend a night or two.
At Mooney Lake all through the summer highs are in the 90's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 70's. | |
