Moody Lake is a nice lake to visit. All the outdoors enjoyable things in the neighborhood of Moody Lake will keep you coming back repeatedly. During your tour to Moody Lake you'll meet some people from Kerrville for sure, and whitewater paddling is splendid on Llano River. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Moody Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 60's, and winter nights come

Joy Creek flows through this region; in case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Llano River - Johnson Fork. This lake is so wonderful. Moody Lake is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, South Llano River State Park is a brilliant local campground, and going for a hike on the Kerr Wildlife Management Area Trail is always a tremendous adventure. | |

Lake Junction is a nice lake in the vicinity of Moody Lake; a good location to camp here at Moody Lake is Lakeview Lazy Daze RV Park. After a long day outdoors Junction - Days Inn is a wonderful site to spend a night or two. Dry
warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn Junction; there are other locations here than Moody Lake, for example Roach Lake. A magnificent site to visit next to Moody Lake is Levels Hollow, and do stop at Moody Lake Dam since you're here.
Near Moody Lake you locate the Walter Buck Wildlife Management Area Trail which is a fine hiking trail, and East Spring is a nice local attraction. Moody Lake is a location that is relatively waterless ordinarily; most of the rain falls during May, and January is the month with the least moisture.

Kerr Wildlife Management Area Trail
 | 18 miles away We have had several disappointed visitors show up at the Kerr WMA due to this website. To be clear, the Kerr WMA is a research and demonstration site owned by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. It is not a state park and we do not have all the amenities of such. There is no overnight camping allowed and hiking is limited to one existing trail and paved roads due to on-going research on native and endangered species. Visitors are welcome to drive the main road and bathrooms are available.... |
