This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Montgomery Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Palo Duro Canyon State Park is a perfect location for that, and not far from Montgomery Lake you get some great water scenery at Montgomery Lake Dam. Throughout the warm days of summer at Montgomery Lake highs are regularly in the 90's with overnight lows in the       60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's; after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Montgomery Lake dip into the 20's. Montgomery Lake is pretty dehydrated generally; June is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is December. On a splendid day at Montgomery Lake you can take a hike along the Buffalo Lake National Wildlife Refuge Trail, and Comfort Inn Vega is a good site to get some rest. Stay the night                  at Texas Style Camprground.
