After a long day outdoors Vega Motel is a fine place to spend a night or two. At Montgomery Lake during the warm months highs are in the 90's. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 60's. Throughout the winter the highs are commonly in the 40's while Montgomery Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along       the Buffalo Lake National Wildlife Refuge Trail, and camping at Montgomery Lake is fine fun, Texas Style Camprground is a fine local campground. A great close by hotel is Bonanza Motel, and during your tour here you'll meet some people from Hereford for sure. Around Montgomery Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is generally June, that's the one that rains the most while December is ordinarily the driest month.
