Many people like to go to Mercer Reservoir 1. After a long day outdoors Rancho Viejo Resort & CC is a wonderful site to spend a night or two. The yearly rain here at Mercer Reservoir 1 is about average; throughout the month of September you get the most rain around here, and March on the other hand is the driest. Not far from Mercer Reservoir 1 you acquire some brilliant water scenery at Sweeney Lake East Levee; nearby you come across the Laguna Atascosa National

| | Wildlife Refuge Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail. Stay the night at Palmdale Village RV Resort, and lots of folks from Brownsville-Harlingen come here. The warmest time of the year at Mercer Reservoir 1 arrives with high temperatures in the 90's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 70's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 60's with temperatures at Mercer Reservoir 1 dipping down into the 40's during winter nights. | |

This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Mercer Reservoir 1 that you need to camp here for a while, Holiday Out RV Park is a nice location for that, and Knights Inn & Suites Los Fresnos is a tremendous place to get some rest.
