After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites BEAUMONT NW is a glorious place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Super 8 Motel Kountze is a glorious place to get some rest,       and McNeely Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day, Big Thicket Outpost is a good place to camp nearby. Not far from McNeely Lake, you'll locate Fountain Pond which is a beautiful lake, and if the weather is nice, you can go for a hike along the Big Thicket - Turkey Creek Trail. The Roy E Larsen Sandyland Sanctuary Trail is a great hiking trail next to McNeely Lake; Big Thicket National Preserve is a glorious local destination. While you're                  here at McNeely Lake you can take a hike along the Big Thicket - Kirby Nature Trail, and you can stay the night at Indian Springs Campground And RV Park. The high level of rainfall makes McNeely Lake a rather wet place; the wettest month of the year is mostly May, that's the one that rains the most while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summertime highs at McNeely Lake usually tend to be in the 90's while nighttime lows are usually in the 60's.
