If the weather is great here at McElvaney Lake, you can go for a hike along the Purtis Creek State Park Trail, and there are other locations here than McElvaney Lake, for example Slaughter Lake. Summer brings highs in the 90's to McElvaney Lake, and all through summer nights temperatures       are in the 70's. For the duration of the winter highs are ordinarily in the 50's, and through the dark hours in the winter at McElvaney Lake temperatures plunge to the 30's. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a great time here at McElvaney Lake. A fine spot to camp here at McElvaney Lake is Flame Mobile Home and RV Park, and people from Athens love to come here. This lake is so wonderful. Perryman Lake Dam is charming and it's in the neighborhood of                  McElvaney Lake, and naturally Anding Branch is a charming stream that is worth visiting. McElvaney Lake is a rather wet place commonly with a good deal of rain; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and August is the month with the least moisture.
