    A visit to McClennahan Lake 1 is always a good idea. During the days of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 90's at McClennahan Lake 1 while night lows are usually in the 60's. Highs during the winter are usually in the 50's, and nighttime lows throughout the wintertime for McClennahan Lake 1 tend to be in the 20's. Pigeon Roost Creek is near McClennahan Lake 1 and is always a joy to pop by, and Sabinal is a brilliant whitewater spot close by.

   Lake 1 is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Koyote Ranch is a wonderful local campground; here at McClennahan Lake 1 you can catch a glimpse of Gunsight Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Best Western Hondo Inn is a great place to spend a night or two, and splendid hiking is available along the Hill Country State Natural Area Trail. But wait, there's more to do close to McClennahan Lake 1. Hiking is a popular thing to do  
               around McClennahan Lake 1; Lost Maples State Natural Area Trails is a great local trail, and while you're here, you might as well check out Brushy Hollow.
A common amount of precipitation falls here at McClennahan Lake 1; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is December. A great site to camp here at McClennahan Lake 1 is Las Aves, and in case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Medina River.
