McCarty Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Albany Motor Inn and RV Campground is a perfect local campground, and there are some fine whitewater spots on Brazos River - Clear Fork. Summertime highs at McCarty Lake usually tend to be in the 90's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures       dip down into the 70's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's, and night lows in the 30's for McCarty Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Vanzandt Lake Number 2 is a delightful lake right next door to McCarty Lake, also McCarty Lake Dam is worth stopping at if you're here. You believe that's enough? Just getting warmed up.
