At Mathisen Lake during the summertime months highs are in the 90's with overnight lows in the 60's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 50's with temperatures at Mathisen Lake dipping down into the 30's all through winter nights. North Grape Creek is a glorious whitewater spot right next door to Mathisen Lake, and La Quinta Inn And Suites Fredericksburg is a magnificent site to get some       rest. An interesting thing to visit close to Mathisen Lake is Mathisen Lake Dam, and a magnificent place for whitewater paddling is Crabapple Creek. This lake is so wonderful.
