You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff at Mathews Lake. While you're here at Mathews Lake, you could also pop by scenic King Lake, and do go to Mathews Lake Dam while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Heartland RV Park is a brilliant campground nearby, and folks from Huntsville love       to come here. Take a hike on the Huntsville State Park Trail, and in close proximity to Mathews Lake you discover a golf course called Raven Nest Golf Club. The annual precipitation here at Mathews Lake is about average; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest month is July. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Huntsville is a good location to spend a night or two, and if you came for an overnight stay Camp Coyote is a perfect site to camp.                  This lake is so wonderful. The summit of Peckerwood Hill can be spotted from Mathews Lake; going for a hike along the Lone Star Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Mathews Lake, and the night is quite cooler of course, usually in the 70's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 60's; after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Mathews Lake fall into the 30's.
