This is a popular spot for folks from Waco, and Markum Lake Number 1 is a great place to visit for more than one day, Brazos River RV Park is a great place to camp nearby. Cottonwood Creek is a great local stream, and a perfect location for whitewater paddling is Hog Creek. So many cool things to do at Markum Lake Number 1, so little time. Towkaw Falls RV Park is a delightful campground nearby, and you can go       for a hike on the Cameron Park Hike and Bike Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart pumping on the good whitewater of Childress Creek, and Taylor Lake Dam is a delightful location, unquestionably worth stopping at. At Markum Lake Number 1 throughout the warm days of summer highs are in the 90's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 70's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's, and after the sun                  is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Markum Lake Number 1 sink into the 30's. The amount of precipitation that falls at Markum Lake Number 1 is close to the national average; May is when you get the most rain here while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
