The amount of rainfall that falls at Mahoney Lake is close to the national average; the month with most of the rain is May, and January on the other hand is the driest. During the long summer days at Mahoney Lake highs are usually in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures       dip down into the 70's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Mahoney Lake are in the 30's. Lakes are great; Mahoney South Lake is a lake that's next to Mahoney Lake, and after a long day outdoors Travelodge Waco is a tremendous site to spend a night or two. Getting to Childress Creek from Mahoney Lake is easy, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Childress Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake                  visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Burnett Lake; not far from Mahoney Lake you obtain some good water scenery at Mahoney Lake Dam. This lake is so wonderful. The Lake Whitney State Park Hiking Trail offers hiking at its best.
