There's so much to do here at Mahoney Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Waco Leisure Properties is a brilliant site for that. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Mahoney Lake. You'll find a lovely lake called Burnett Lake near Mahoney Lake, and whitewater paddling is fine       on Hog Creek. This lake is so wonderful. There is a great hiking trail in close proximity to Mahoney Lake called the Lake Whitney State Park Hiking Trail. This lake is so wonderful. At Mahoney Lake you always meet someone from Waco, and La Quinta Inn and Suites Woodway is a wonderful spot to get some rest. Mahoney Lake is right next door to Mahoney Lake Dam which is a lovely site beyond doubt worth a visit, and why not a little side trip to Childress Creek.                  You'll need more than a day to discover everything Mahoney Lake has to offer, you can camp at Brazos River RV Park, and if you need a spot to stay Travelodge Waco is a good choice. From a rain point of view Mahoney Lake is a reasonably common place; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. If you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Childress Creek; a striking lake like Mahoney South Lake is a great place to pop by. For the period of the warm days of summer at Mahoney Lake temperatures are generally in the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 70's.
