    Beautiful Lower Lake has much to offer visitors. Lower Lake is a good site of typical precipitation; throughout the month of May you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is August. High temperatures at Lower Lake during the warmest time of the year are in the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 70's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Lower Lake are in the 30's. This  
   lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Residence Inn By Marriott Tyler, and camping is available at #1 RV Park of Tyler.
If you like the outdoors, you'll adore Lower Lake. If you come at the right time of year, Neches River offers some nice whitewater. Lakes are fine; Storey Lake is a lake that's near Lower Lake. Not far from Lower Lake, you'll discover Dogwood Hollow Lake which is a beautiful lake, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express
 
               Hotel & Suites TYLER SOUTH is a great site to spend a night or two.
Going for a hike on the Tyler State Park Trail is always a glorious adventure, and if you came for an overnight stay Northgate RV And Mobile Home Park is a brilliant spot to camp. At Lower Lake Dam in the neighborhood of Lower Lake there are some exciting things to see; Lower Lake is not far at all from Tyler.

... some line off to your kayak and let it float under a downed tree, you crawl over the tree and then get back in. I'm sure the when and where the trees are down changes quite often.... And it looks like someone (probably the river authority) takes a saw down and cuts some of this out from time to time.

The put in location is correct. However, the take out is not. You need to float further down to the 175 bridge (less than 1/4th mile) and get out there.

I would suggest that experienced paddlers attempt this only when the water is high from heavy rains or when the dam is letting a lot of water out. There's vegetative litter stuck in the trees 10 foot above the water line.... So at some points of the year... This thing moves... And could represent dangers with the amount of timber.

You might consider taking a machete on this trip just in case. Don't forget the fishing pole, or if you are an archer, a bow for the huge gar and buffalo. There's plenty of fishin to do .
