This lake is so wonderful. There's some flowing water nearby, Turkey Creek is a stream you can take a look at while here; if you need a place to stay Americas Best Value Inn/Athens is a good choice.       There's perfect hiking along the Purtis Creek State Park Trail. During the summertime months at Long Lake highs are commonly in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 70's. During the winter highs are in the 50's with temperatures at Long Lake dipping down into the 30's during winter nights. From a rain point of view Long Lake is a reasonably common location; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months                  is August. There are other places here than Long Lake, for example Stephens Lake, and if you came for an overnight stay R H Lee Park is a splendid site to camp.
