Lake Whitney Golf Club is a good golf course close by, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Whitney; Lake Whitney State Park Hiking Trail is a fine local trail. If you come at the right time of year, Steele Creek offers some tremendous       whitewater, and Whitney Dam is a place that is next to Lake Whitney. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Lake Whitney, you could also stop by beautiful K Bar Lake Number 4, and you can stay the night at Thousand Trails. Lake Whitney gets a common amount of annual rain; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is December. K Bar Lake Number 3 is a nearby lake that you could check out; Best Western Velkommen is a delightful site                  to get some rest. You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Float down the rapids of Childress Creek in a kayak, and of course Little Rocky Creek flows through this area. This lake is so wonderful. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 70's.
