But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Lake Jacksonville. Get soaked paddling on Neches River. There's so much to do here at Lake Jacksonville that you need to camp here for a while, Castle on the Lake Inn and RV Resort is a good place for that. Lake Jacksonville gets a common amount of yearly rain; the month with most of the rain is May, and July is when it's the driest. This lake       is so wonderful. Don't leave Lake Jacksonville without first going for a hike along the Jim Hogg State Historical Park Trail. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can check out Gum Creek Dam, and Cat Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth a visit. Go for a hike on the Nature Trail; if you came to camp Shady Pines RV Park and Campground is a good spot to do that. This lake is so wonderful.
