Get yourself into a kayak and hit Medina River, and if you need a site to stay Bandera Lodge Motel is a magnificent choice. At Lake Hiawatha through the summer highs are in the 90's, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. During the winter highs are ordinarily in the 50's, and night lows at Lake Hiawatha through the winter frequently descend into the 20's. And that's       not all you can do here at Lake Hiawatha. It's always nice to stop by Dripping Springs, and Lake Hiawatha is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Hill Country Sna is a perfect local campground. The yearly rainfall here at Lake Hiawatha is about average; May is the wettest month with most rain while December is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Chaparral Cottages is a great place to get some rest, and close by you find the Hill Country                  State Natural Area Trail which is a good hiking trail. Take a side journey to Bandera Creek; if you come at the right time of year, Verde Creek offers some fine whitewater. Rugh Hill is easy to spot from Lake Hiawatha.
