Good hiking is available along the       Terlingua Trail; a brilliant place to camp here at Lake Ament is B J RV Park. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Ament; Apache Canyon Trail is a fine local trail, and Terlingua Creek has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. The Burro Mesa Spring Trail offers hiking at its best, and Cheosa Waterhole is a delightful lake nearby. In case you don’t have a                  problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Terlingua Creek, and camping at Big Bend Motor Inn is always a brilliant experience.
