Whitewater paddling is glorious on Terlingua Creek, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Apache Canyon Trail. Big Bend Motor Inn is a magnificent local campground, and the Terlingua Trail offers hiking at its best. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors cool stuff the area next to Lake Ament has to offer. For the period of the long summer days at Lake Ament temperatures are generally in the 100's with nighttime       lows in the 70's. Highs through the wintertime are mostly in the 60's; all through the dark hours in the winter at Lake Ament temperatures drop to the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. Big Bend National Park is a great location in the vicinity of Lake Ament, and Lake Ament is right by the Burro Mesa Spring Trail.
