For the duration of the warmest time of the year at Kimmey Lake highs are usually in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 50's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Kimmey Lake temperatures fall to the 30's. Don't leave Kimmey Lake without first going for a hike along the Trout Creek Nature       Trail, and if you came to camp Sawmill Town Campground Resort is a tremendous site to do that. There's so much to do here at Kimmey Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Artesian Springs is a pleasant site for that, and while you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby De Ridder. The high level of rain makes Kimmey Lake a relatively wet location; most of the rain falls all through December; August is the month with the least moisture. On a                  tremendous day you can stop at Kimmey Lake Slough, a swamp in the vicinity of Kimmey Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
