High temperatures at Kimmey Lake all through the warmest time of the year are in the 90's while night lows are commonly in the 60's. All through the wintertime the highs are typically in the 50's with temperatures at Kimmey Lake dipping down into the 30's all through winter nights. Artesian Springs is a great local campground, and on a perfect day you can take a hike along the       Trout Creek Nature Trail. Swamps like Kimmey Lake Slough are fun to check out, needless to say you could also check out Black Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. Kimmey Lake is a nice place to visit for more than one day, Sawmill Town Campground Resort is a nice place to camp nearby, and Best Western DeRidder Inn & Suites is a great site to get some rest.
