    What a nice lake Killion Lake is. You can run the rapids of Neches River right next door to Killion Lake, and R Place RV Park and Campgrounds is a magnificent local campground. Looking for something close to Killion Lake? Crystal Lake is in close proximity, and if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Palestine, Tx is a perfect choice. This lake is so wonderful.
For the period of the months of summer at Killion Lake highs are mostly in the 90's
 
   with nighttime lows in the 70's. Highs through the wintertime are usually in the 50's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Killion Lake temperatures drop to the 30's. This is no site for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. A great close by hotel is La Quinta Inn & Suites Palestine; this is a popular place for people from Palestine. This lake is so wonderful. You're possibly hooked on lakes, Williams Lake is one of those close by; going for  
               a hike on the Nature Trail is always a fine adventure.
If you came for an overnight stay Serenity RV Park and Campgrounds is a brilliant location to camp, and it's a perfect idea to check out Snake Creek. Killion Lake usually gets a large amount of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is May while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Very great water scenery is available at Killon Lake Dam next to Killion Lake; you can go for a hike on the Mount Hope Tract Trail.

...and let it float under a downed tree, you crawl over the tree and then get back in. I'm sure the when and where the trees are down changes quite often.... And it looks like someone (probably the river authority) takes a saw down and cuts some of this out from time to time.

The put in location is correct. However, the take out is not. You need to float further down to the 175 bridge (less than 1/4th mile) and get out there.

I would suggest that experienced paddlers attempt this only when the water is high from heavy rains or when the dam is letting a lot of water out. There's vegetative litter stuck in the trees 10 foot above the water line.... So at some points of the year... This thing moves... And could represent dangers with the amount of timber.

You might consider taking a machete on this trip just in case. Don't forget the fishing pole, or if you are an archer, a bow for the huge gar and buffalo. There's plenty of fishin to do .

This trip with little effort takes approx 3 hours. If you live nearby, you need to make this float. Glad this short trip is ...
