Summertime at Johnson Lake comes with high temperatures in the 90's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Through the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 50's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Johnson Lake. There is a fine hiking trail in the neighborhood of Johnson       Lake called the San Angelo State Park Trail, and Johnson Dam is gorgeous. Quicksand Golf Course is a golf course near Johnson Lake. Americas Best Value Inn/San Angelo is a good place to get some rest; San Angelo Sewage Ponds is a nearby lake that you could stop at. And that's not all you can do here at Johnson Lake. A wonderful close by hotel is Super 8 San Angelo; get yourself into a kayak and hit Concho River. Not much rain falls here at Johnson Lake;                  the month of September is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is January. This lake is so wonderful.
