On a wonderful day at Indian Pond you can take a hike along the Nature Trail; after a long day outdoors Elkhart Inn is a great site to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. There is a pleasant hiking trail close to Indian Pond called the Mount Hope Tract Trail, and Phillips Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to. Throughout the long summer days highs here at Indian Pond get into the 90's, and during the night       it cools down to the 70's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 50's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Indian Pond temperatures descend to the 30's. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. If you're going to Indian Pond from Jacksonville, you won't be the only one, and dry warm beds await you at Western Motel. Why not camp at HWY 155 RV Park since you're here at Indian Pond; do visit Beech Creek if you're here at Indian Pond.                  Going for a hike on the Mission Tejas State Park Trail is always a brilliant adventure. Indian Pond gets a common amount of annual precipitation; May is the wettest month with most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month.
