Very nice water scenery is available at Hyatt Lake Dam in the vicinity of Hyatt Lake, and Big Thicket National Preserve is a wonderful local destination. The high level of rainfall makes Hyatt Lake a quite wet location;       through the month of May you get the most rain around here, and August on the other hand is the driest. The Longleaf Nature Trail offers hiking at its best; you can stay the night at Big Thicket Outpost. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Big Thicket - Turkey Creek Trail, and Spurlock Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel Kountze, and if you get bored of Hyatt Lake you could also take a look at nearby                  Lake Charmaine. Hyatt Lake is right by the Big Thicket - Sundew Trail, and Hyatt Lake is a great location to visit for more than one day, Indian Springs Campground And RV Park is a great location to camp nearby. At Hyatt Lake throughout the summer months highs are in the 90's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 70's.
