Horseshoe Lake is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Mouth of Hickory Creek Campground is a splendid local campground, and do visit Mitchell Slough, it's a scenic lake. Near Horseshoe Lake you find the Old Tram Hiking Trail which is a magnificent       hiking trail; Super 8 Nacogdoches is a great place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the 4 - C National Recreation Hiking Trail; dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites NACOGDOCHES. Horseshoe Lake is a rather wet place frequently with much precipitation; the wettest month of the year is generally May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is August. And if that's not enough, there's                  loads more to do next to Horseshoe Lake. Going for a hike on the Neches Bluff Trail is always a wonderful adventure, and Warner Slough is a nearby lake that you could stop by. For the duration of the summertime here at Horseshoe Lake, high temperatures usually reach the 90's, and the night is a tad chillier of course, usually in the 70's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Horseshoe Lake.
