Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express JACKSONVILLE, and don't leave Honey Lake without first going for a hike along the Mount Hope Tract Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. If you come at the right time of year, Neches River offers some brilliant whitewater, and camping at Lake Palestine Campground and Lodge is always a tremendous experience. | | hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 70's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Honey Lake are in the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. Honey Lake gets a common amount of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is commonly May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is July. Palestine here. If you need a site to stay Best Western Executive Inn is a delightful choice, and you can go for a hike on the Nature Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There are other locations here than Honey Lake, for example
Hurricane Lake, and Honey Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Big Steve's RV Park is a great local campground. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not take a look at Alligator Lake in close proximity to Honey Lake, and there's some interesting stuff to distinguish at Tucker Lake Dam in close proximity to Honey Lake.

 | 1 PHOTO ...timber in the water. One area in particular you will need to tie some line off to your kayak and let it float under a downed tree, you crawl over the tree and then get back in. I'm sure the when and where the trees are down changes quite often.... And it looks like someone (probably the river authority) takes a saw down and cuts some of this out from time to time.
The put in location is correct. However, the take out is not. You need to float further down to the 175 bridge (less than 1/4th mile) and get out there.
I would suggest that experienced paddlers attempt this only when the water is high from heavy rains or when the dam is letting a lot of water out. There's vegetative litter stuck in the trees 10 foot above the water line.... So at some points of the year... This thing moves... And could represent dangers with the amount of timber.
You might consider taking a machete on this trip just in case. Don't forget the fishing pole, or if you are an archer, a bow for the huge gar and buffalo. There's plenty of fishin to do .
