Hitt Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; December is when you get the most rain here; August on the other hand is the driest. Going for a hike along the Sawmill Hiking Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; Horseshoe Lake is a nearby lake that you could       explore. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Hitt Lake, you could also visit scenic Jim Goode Lake; you can stay the night at Double Heart RV Park. If only every place had this much outdoors cool stuff, what a great globe it would be. Hiking along the Old River Woodland Trail is pleasant fun, and while you're here, you could check out Jordans Creek. Have a great hiking adventure along the Martin Dies State Park Trail. Summertime highs at Hitt                  Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 90's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 70's.
