     After a long day outdoors La Quinta IS Woodway Waco South is a good place to spend a night or two, and a splendid location for whitewater paddling is Tonkawa Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Hall Lake; Mother Neff State Park Trail is a great local trail, and a striking lake like Taylor Lake is a good spot to stop by. This place, Hall Lake, it simply has so much outdoors fun stuff. Best Western Velkommen is a wonderful  
   site to get some rest, and lakes are such peaceful locations, why not explore Bass Lake. Good hiking is available along the Lake Whitney State Park Hiking Trail, and get your pulse rate up on the fine whitewater of Hog Creek.
The amount of rainfall that falls at Hall Lake is close to the national average; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is December. If you came to camp Towkaw Falls RV Park is a magnificent
 
               location to do that. During the warm days of summer here at Hall Lake, high temperatures commonly get into the 90's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 70's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Hall Lake descend into the 30's.
Hall Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, The Safari RV Resort and Campground is a great local campground; why not go to Hall Lake Dam while you're here.

Hog Creek
Speegleville Road is not a good takeout point. A better trip would start from the low water crossing at Shiloh Baptist Church about 1 mi north of Hwy 185. Go all the way down to Lake Waco, cross the lake NE for 1 mi and take out at the City of Woodway Park at the end of Estates Dr. Total River distance is 12 miles. Water has to be 100-200cfs or better to be navigable upstream of the private road bridge on McLennan Crossing Rd which is 3.5 miles up from the mouth of Hog Creek at Lake Waco. Springtime fishing is good for white bass, largemouth bass, and crappie from McLennan Crossing Bridge to Lake Waco along Hog Creek....
