You'll locate a beautiful lake called Lake Conception near Hackney Lake, and there are magnificent places to look at along the Lower Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuge Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you want to visit some out of the ordinary stuff, visit Pate Bend, and don't leave Hackney Lake       without first going for a hike along the Bentsen - Rio Grande Valley State Park Trail. What a spot this is for outdoors folks. Valley Grande Mobile Home Park is a brilliant local campground; there are plenty of folks from McAllen-Edinburg-Pharr here at Hackney Lake. A scenic lake like Bentsen Lake in the vicinity of Hackney Lake is a delightful place to explore, and enjoy a round of golf at Shari Municipal Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. Not much rain falls here at Hackney Lake; September is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is March.
