Grimes Lake is a wet spot that gets lots of rain; December is when you get the most rain here, and August is when it's the driest. After a long day outdoors Budget Inn is a brilliant place to spend a night or two, and the Martin Dies State Park Trail offers hiking at its best. Looking for some       flowing water? Try Angelina River, and Grimes Lake is right by the Sawmill Hiking Trail. Having a great time at Grimes Lake is uncomplicated. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not check out Big Eddy right next door to Grimes Lake. There's so much to do here at Grimes Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Beech Grove Campground is a pleasant spot for that. This lake is so wonderful. Grimes Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Twin Dikes Marina                  is a great local campground, and if you need a spot to stay Econo Lodge Jasper is a pleasant choice. For the period of the warm days of summer at Grimes Lake highs are generally in the 90's while overnight lows are usually in the 70's.
