     Greenbriar Lake is a nice lake to visit. Greenbriar Lake in fact is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise. Looking for something right next door to Greenbriar Lake? Greenbrier Lake is around here, and Greenbriar Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, #1 RV Park of Tyler is a wonderful local campground. You're almost certainly keen on lakes, Bellwood Lake is one of those close by; after a long day outdoors Baymont Inn and Suites Tyler  
   is a good spot to spend a night or two.
Windsor Inn and Suites is a perfect spot to get some rest; get wet paddling on Neches River. During your journey to Greenbriar Lake you'll meet some folks from Tyler for sure, and camping at Noonday RV Park is always a tremendous experience. Summer at Greenbriar Lake comes with high temperatures in the 90's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 70's. Through the wintertime highs are regularly in the 50's, and
 
               overnight lows at Greenbriar Lake during the wintertime generally drop into the 30's.
A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Greenbriar Lake; the wettest month of the year is generally May, that's the one that rains the most while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. There is a perfect hiking trail in the vicinity of Greenbriar Lake called the Tyler State Park Trail, and do explore Greenbriar Lake Dam since you're here.

...o speak of, but you need to be prepared to make short portages and negotiate downed timber in the water. One area in particular you will need to tie some line off to your kayak and let it float under a downed tree, you crawl over the tree and then get back in. I'm sure the when and where the trees are down changes quite often.... And it looks like someone (probably the river authority) takes a saw down and cuts some of this out from time to time.

The put in location is correct. However, the take out is not. You need to float further down to the 175 bridge (less than 1/4th mile) and get out there.

I would suggest that experienced paddlers attempt this only when the water is high from heavy rains or when the dam is letting a lot of water out. There's vegetative litter stuck in the trees 10 foot above the water line.... So at some points of the year... This thing moves... And could represent dangers with the amount of timber.

You might consider taking a machete on this trip just in case. Don't forget the fishing pole, or if you are an archer, a bow for the huge gar ...
