On a nice day at Goldy Lake you can take a hike along the Mount Hope Tract Trail,       and a good close by hotel is Americas Best Value Inn-Jacksonville. The amount of rainfall that falls at Goldy Lake is close to the national average; May is when you get the most rain here while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation. If you want a glorious time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Goldy Lake. Bear Creek flows through this area, and Neches River has a fine whitewater paddling spot nearby.
