The scenery at Garrison Lake Dam in close proximity to Garrison Lake is delightful, and getting to Bauerlein Creek from Garrison Lake is uncomplicated. Garrison Lake is splendid enough to       spend more than a day at, Las Aves is a splendid local campground; at Garrison Lake you always meet someone from Kerrville. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Medina River. Nearby Dewberry Hollow is a good place to go if you're at Garrison Lake, and the Hill Country State Natural Area Trail is a nice hiking trail close by. There's so much to do here at Garrison Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Koyote Ranch is a great place for that, and get soaked                  paddling on Sabinal. This lake is so wonderful. Near Garrison Lake you come across the Lost Maples State Natural Area Trails which is a magnificent hiking trail, and dry warm beds await you at Inn of the Hills Resort and Conference Center. During the summertime months, highs commonly are in the 90's at Garrison Lake. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's.
