It's always fun to stop by Flag Pond. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Lake Somerville Trailway, and why not take a little journey to Nails Creek since you're here. Camping at Lake Somerville-Nails is always a magnificent experience, and Lamb Lake Dam is gorgeous. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Yegua Creek Park Nature Trail, and if you need a place to stay Ramada Limited At Giddings is a delightful choice.

| | Flag Pond highs are typically in the 90's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 70's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 50's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Flag Pond temperatures sink to the 30's. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. A good location to camp here at Flag Pond is Lake Somerville-Birch State Park; a nice nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Brenham, Texas.
