At Engineer Lake all through the summertime highs are in the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 70's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 50's while Engineer Lake night low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 30's. Any time is a tremendous time at Engineer Lake if you have a thing about the outdoors. A nice spot to camp here at Engineer Lake is Elm Grove Mobile Home       Estates, and the Chalk Ridge Falls Park Trail offers hiking at its best. If you need a spot to stay Best Western Killeen is a magnificent choice, and whitewater paddling is tremendous on Salado Creek. Killeen Municipal Golf Course is a brilliant golf course nearby, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Miller Springs Nature Center Trail.; most of the rain falls during May, and January on the other hand is the driest. Camping at Big Oak Estates is always                  a glorious experience; you're sure to bump into some wonderful people from Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood here. This lake is so wonderful. From Engineer Lake you get a magnificent panorama of Trapnell Point, and dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Harker Heights. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can pop by Engineer Lake Dam; there's good hiking along the Dana Peak Park Trail.
